Tryg is undergoing significant development with a strong focus on digitalization and simplification. Our ambition is to develop and improve our data transparency through a real-time data marketplace (Tryg 360) for Tryg's data and make this easily accessible to all our departments across the Nordic region.
We are now looking for a Data Engineer that want to be a part of our Nordic team, and help us optimize and build a strong foundation within data transparency!
About Us
You will be part of Tryg's Nordic IT organization, Business and Information Technology (BID) in the Enterprise Solution division.
The Tryg Data-team helps to expand Tryg's real-time data marketplace. You will be part of a team of integration and data experts, where you will work on transforming data from core systems into Tryg’s marketplace and deliver it to data consumers. This will be done in close collaboration with the department responsible for the data marketplace platform.
Our efforts within the Data-team are in the heart our strategy, simply because data is the core of making good and correct decisions about system development, business insights and AI.
We place great emphasis on collaboration across departments and functions in our Nordic organization, and as a colleague in the Tryg Data-team, you will be a central contribution in the development of Tryg's future systems. Through collaboration with various colleagues and partners, you will be equipped with a solid network that enables you to solve your tasks proficiently, and at the same time ensure a continuous development of your skills.
About The Role
The Tryg Data-team is established with a core of expertise that, together with Tryg’s existing marketplace platform team, sets guidelines, defines best practices, addresses common challenges, and distributes guidelines, etc.
The Data-team members mostly participate in projects/agile release trains (ARTs) but also spend time expanding their professional knowledge. This way, important experience and knowledge are exchanged between the Tryg data team, the platform team, the projects/ARTs, and become a bridge builder between BID and a data organization. In this role you can enhance your skills across a wide range of technical domains, together with members of the integrations team and the BID organization.
We imagine your tasks and responsibilities will be:
We expect you to have a relevant education in Data engineering, Data management, Data modelling or similar. In addition, it is an advantage if you have hands-on experience with modern data platforms.
You probably have knowledge of the most common tools for data streaming, including Kafka and Java (Kstreams). In addition, it will be an advantage if you have knowledge of Python, Blob Storage, GraphQL and DevOps/Git, or similar tools.

- Transformation of large amounts of data from internal and external data sources across the Nordic, into a state-of-the-art data management platform
- Working with open-source tools, modern software engineering practices, and leveraging new technological possibilities in data streaming, you will have the opportunity to influence the way we work and shape our future systems
- Ensure robust infrastructure (Cloud-as-a-Service, Security-by-design, operation) in collaboration with the platform team
- Ensure that data created in systems is made available to data consumers in real time, and be able to understand data management, development skills, data modeling, software development and business understanding
