The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate (GCS) – Group Digital Office (GDO) – Platforms & Services Department (P&S), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2025)
(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship
This traineeship offers a unique opportunity to work on a strategic initiative within our Group Digital Office (GDO) department. You will be involved in building a framework that enhances IT resource management, fosters collaboration between teams, and improves the efficiency of ongoing initiatives and operations. This project will allow you to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges, contributing directly to optimising IT capacity, budget usage, and initiatives follow-ups. Through this experience, you will gain hands-on exposure to a dynamic IT environment while developing critical skills in process improvement and automation.
Responsibilities
You will work closely with various IT teams to assess current workflows, tools, and processes. Your primary responsibility will be to support design and develop a framework that reinforces the IT Base and Platform workstream. This includes building tools for tracking IT activities, analysing data for better resource allocation, and proposing automation solutions to streamline initiatives follow-ups. You will also contribute to process mapping, documentation, and presenting your findings and recommendations to IT leadership. Throughout the traineeship, you will play an active role in testing and refining the framework to ensure it meets operational needs.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills
- Final year of studies or University degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related fields
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and resource management would be considered as an advantage
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and data analysis will be an advantage
- Any previous experience or coursework in business process optimisation or IT resource management will be an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools, in particular Excel proficiency - especially in creating complex models and tools
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
