EIB Trainee – Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate–Joint Middle Office Department–Intermediated Lending Division–Implementation, Delinked RS & Central Allocation Unit – based in Luxembourg

The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) – Joint Middle Office Department (JMO) – Intermediated Lending Division (IL) – Implementation, Delinked RS and Central Allocation Unit (IDCA), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

Objective of the traineeship

The Traineeship Will Take Place Within The Division In Charge Of The Middle Office Monitoring Of EIB Operations Intermediated By Financial Intermediaries (FIs). These Operations Concern

• Loans to FIs to be on-lent to eligible beneficiaries for eligible projects, or
• Guarantees to FIs, where risk is shared on a portfolio of eligible loans.
  
  

The enhancement of the main IT application used for this monitoring activity is currently ongoing. In the context of this project, you will support the digitalization of some monitoring tasks of EIB loans and guarantees and the implementation of efficiency initiatives relevant to the activities of the Middle Office. The responsibilities will imply supporting senior colleagues in the business analysis and project implementation tasks, updating procedures and creating information material.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities would be the following:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of IT tools used for the monitoring activity. This involves participating in the parametrization, testing and migration to the new systems,
• Support the design and documentation of information and learning material relevant to the monitoring activity of EIB intermediated loans and guarantees,
• As required, you will support the division on the regular monitoring activities.
  
  

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Engineering or Law
• Good understanding of the EIB's mission and of EIB's financial products
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook & Word, excellent knowledge of Excel
• Analytical skills and data management abilities
• Experience with software development, programming or use of visual platforms would be an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other European languages is a distinct advantage.
