The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) – Coordination Division (COORD) – Digitalisation and Applications Management Unit (DIGI APP), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Please note that you are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.

Objective of the traineeship

The Digitalisation and Applications (DIGI APP) unit is currently developing and maintaining a number of key applications in the Bank's IT landscape. It is composed of several business analysts and project managers working on a variety of projects. You will support the core mission of the DIGI APPs unit by providing support to the team across different activities including the preparation of business requirements and end user needs, as well as software development documentation and testing activities.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities would be the following:

Participation in software development projects using agile methodology including

  • Preparation and participation in workshops with end users
  • Assistance in user story creation
  • Preparation and assistance/execution of testing activities
  • Preparation/update of documentation and presentations
  • Participation in end user support activity

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Software development or other relevant fields Excellent analytical skills and general understanding of software development process,
  • Excellent knowledge of Standard Office applications,
  • Knowledge of change management activities during different phases of the software development lifecycle,
  • Prior experience in agile software development projects would be an advantage,
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French; Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage
