The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) – Joint Middle Office Department (JMO) – Events Processing and Monitoring Support Division (EP&MS) – Portfolio Management Support & Guarantee Calls Unit (PMS&GC), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship

The Objective Of The Traineeship Is To Support All Team Members In 3 Specific Areas Of The Unit 's Activities Aiming At

  • Contributing to business user testing in relation to ongoing developments of certain applications and ongoing projects that impact the Unit's activities;
  • Assisting in addressing multiple data reporting requests (recurring or ad-hoc) as well as performing consistency and accuracy control checks on existing Unit reports;
  • Maintaining and further developing monthly control checklists, therefore contributing to the data quality enhancement of the Unit's output deliverables.

Responsibilities

You will work under the supervision of the Head of Unit and in permanent collaboration with all other team members of the Unit. Responsibilities will range as follows:

  • Compiling and consolidation of data input provided by multiple team members in dedicated reports that are addressed to management;
  • Perform detailed control consistency checks in all Unit's reports that contain with quantitative analysis;
  • Help on addressing ad-hoc and recurring data requests in the area of reporting for EWS/NPE, Internal rating coverage, Guarantee calls;
  • Contribute to the business user testing (in UAT phase) of several IT developments relating to the areas of Risk Sharing mandates (GCApp), Exposure Data Management (HADES) and Internal Rating Coverage;
  • Ensuring timely adherence of control checklists and update of respective procedures.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Business administration, Finance, Economics or Computer science/Engineering and other related fields
  • Solid experience with IT software/hardware
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking, analyze and to document problems
  • Proactive, dynamic, self-starter
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Power Point as well as SQL
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French, other European Languages an advantage.
