The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Projects Directorate (PJ) - Sustainability & Quality Management Department (SQM) - Impact & Quality Division (IMPACT) - Digital Management Unit (DMU), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

Objective of the traineeship
You will work in the Digital Management Unit of the Projects Directorate - a transversal team covering IT and digitalisation topics, reporting, data governance and information management. The team is currently working on major IT projects aimed at digitalising the Directorate's operational documents and the related workflows (drafting, review, clearance and validation). These documents are produced in the context of the appraisal and monitoring of investment projects financed by the EIB.
The Projects Directorate will introduce significant changes in its Front Office Lending Applications IT landscape over the course of 2025. The trainee will assist the team in performing various tasks necessary for the successful development, implementation and roll-out of these new IT tools accross the Directorate.

Responsibilities
You will work under the direct supervision of EIB staff, on various tasks that will cover:
- IT Business Analysis: analysing less complex business requirements, drafting simple user stories, testing user stories before IT developments are put in production, all in the context of digitalising the Directorate's appraisal documentation prepared in the context of the economic and technical assessment of new investment projects to be financed by the EIB;
- Assistance along the various steps of the internal Change Management process required for the successful roll out of the new IT tools accross the Projects Directorate: preparation of user guidance, FAQs, training and internal communication material around these IT developments;
- Support in the roll-out of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools accross the Directorate, through use case development and user support.
- Final year of studies or University degree (or equivalent professional qualifications) in a relevant domain, typically computer science, economics, business, engineering, or other scientific field;
- No more than 12 months of professional experience;
- Knowledge and/or experience in IT Business Analysis (analysing business requirements, drafting user stories, testing new software developments, training users etc.) would be an advantage;
- A good understanding of the corporate lending business and a loan's life cycle;
- A good understanding of the EIB's mission, business model and activity;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
