The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General (SG) – Shareholder Relations and Institutional Matters Department (SR&IM) – Institutional Representation Division (IRD) – External Offices Unit (EO), at its EIB office in Berlin, Germany: TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March/April 2025)

Objective of the traineeship

Under the responsibility of the Head of EIB Group Office in Germany - based in Berlin - you will mainly contribute to a data collection on major political and economic developments in Germany relevant to EIB's activity and on EIB Group activity in Germany. This information will be a key added value to produce briefings and to feed our communication material - particularly in the context of the government's ambitious climate-oriented transition agenda requiring the expansion of renewable energy supply as well as the decarbonisation of German industry. Additionally, you will participate in the organisation of events and contribute to making the EIB better known across Germany.

Responsibilities

You will have to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the EIB Activity (EIB, EIF, Advisory, Institute) and then collect information in an efficient manner to enhance our capacity to inform and communicate. With the support of the Berlin-based Senior Media Officer and the Head of the office, you will work on a communication campaign towards national authorities by providing key information of the activity of the EU Bank. The theme could be adapted to the climate-oriented priorities of the government while preserving the competitiveness of the industry. Climate and Innovation will definitely be in the center, but also other priorities like defence & security.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

• Final year of studies or University degree preferably in communication, finance or international relations, and political science would be a strong asset.
• Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of German and other EU language would be an advantage.
