We are looking for an experienced People Partner to join our team in a standalone, hands-on role, supporting our Denmark offices in Aalborg and Copenhagen. As the sole HR presence on the ground, this position is ideal for someone who thrives on working independently and directly handing the full score of HR responsibilities from recruitment, onboarding, employee support and offboarding.


You will be working within a small team alongside the Cambridge (UK) office and requires someone comfortable working with a remote manager. You will be the go-to for HR in Denmark and be directly responsible for keeping all HR processes running smoothly, balancing strategic people support with the operational details that keeps the business functioning at its best.


Based in Aalborg, with regular travel to Copenhagen and occasional trips to the UK, this role offers you the chance to make a real difference in a close-knit team where everyone’s contributions matter.


Key Responsibilities


Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Ownership of the full recruitment process for Denmark from drafting job descriptions, advertising the positions online, coordinating interviews and extending job offers. Including writing employee contracts.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and provide tailored recruitment support to ensure the best talent is recruited and provide a great candidate experience.
  • Facilitate and coordinate onboarding for all new hires, ensuring a smooth, welcoming and informative integration into our teams in Aalborg and Copenhagen.
  • Build relationships with local talent networks, universities and similar to attract top talent to our teams.
  • Drive local employer branding, maintaining an engaging and current presence that attracts and connects with top talent.


Relationship Building & Communication

  • Act as a trusted HR partner to local management and employees in Denmark building strong, supportive relationships.
  • Coach, advise and work alongside employees and management, providing support across the whole spectrum of people and culture.
  • Coordinate closely with the Cambridge office and ensure that local Denmark HR practices align with broader People strategy.
  • Develop a strong understanding of company culture, the business and our goals and being a champion for our company values.


Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Provide support for employee relations by addressing and resolving issues in a fair, consistent and proactive manner.
  • Guide management on best practices, including goal setting, providing feedback and managing difficult conversations.
  • Uphold a positive work environment by handing sensitive issues with professionalism, empathy and confidentiality.


HR Administration

  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate employee records and ensure all data confidentiality across personnel files.
  • Prepare and manage local HR communications as and when required to keep the team informed of HR initiatives.
  • Handle all HR administration independently, including employee records and general enquiries – this is an operational, hands on, role with no admin support.


Employee Wellbeing & Development

  • Organise and lead “feel-good” events and social activities, from management off-sites to seasonal celebrations, enhancing the sense of community and belonging.
  • Champion wellbeing initiatives that foster a positive work culture, providing opportunities for team bonding and engagement.
  • Champion local Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, aligning with company values and fostering a positive community impact.
  • Learning & Development – planning and execution of learning and development initiatives in alignment with employee and business goals.


Policy Management, Practices & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain HR policies whilst proactively monitoring Danish and EU employment law to ensure full compliance.
  • Communicating policy changes clearly to employees and managers, providing support in understanding and applying policies in the workplace.
  • Supporting the onsite IT, H&S and Office Management teams with ongoing projects when needed such as NIS2 legislation.
  • Evaluate local HR practices and procedures to ensure they support employees and the operational needs of the business,
  • Collaborating with the HR Director on regional and global projects, helping to locally implement these as needed


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


Required

  • Experienced HR Generalist with expertise across recruitment, employee relations, performance management and administration
  • Independent and resilient – confident and capable as the sole HR presence in Denmark with the resilience and adaptability needed for a standalone role.
  • Organised and detail oriented to manage all HR functions independently and prioritise in a dynamic environment.
  • People focussed and approachable, skilled at building trust and maintaining an open supportive present for employees, management and your team.
  • Fluent in Danish and English with excellent written and verbal communication in both languages.
  • Solution focused and able to implement processes to meet business needs.
  • Self-directed, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work in an agile and dynamic environment, switching between tasks seamlessly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust and work collaboratively in a diverse team.


Desired

  • Experience using Workday HRIS
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience in Learning & development strategy
  • Experience of working with a remote Line Manager
