The European Gas Market is rapidly developing and so are we in Centrica Energy. We are currently looking for an experienced Structured Gas Originator to support and expand our physical gas portfolio.

About The Role

In the role as our new Structured Gas Originator, you will work closely with our traders, portfolio managers and analysts to explore new areas of business, while acting in a market facing role. Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Explore and develop new value streams by evaluating and developing new leads (new products and markets)
• Negotiate and execute new deals for the asset portfolio
• Support the development and growth of the existing portfolio, by actively seeking new products and opportunities to maximize value
• Explore, structure and develop new products to grow and enhance the value of the existing portfolio
• Monitor market and regulatory development in both existing and surrounding markets, to analyze the impact on the portfolio and potential origination opportunities
  
  

About You

The ideal candidate has a curious mindset, a strong eye on detail and is not afraid of taking on responsibility and challenging the status quo. Commerical / Trading experience from a previous role within the gas market (e.g. as an Originator, Commercial Business Developer, Portfolio Manager, Gas trader or similar) is a requirement.

The ideal candidate has:

• At least a few years of experience from a similar role within an energy trading company
• A natural curiosity and a commercial mindset
• Strong communication skills and is a team player
• A thorough understanding of the European Gas Markets, fundamental drivers and physical Gas Trading.
• A detail oriented and analytical approach
• Strong stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
  
  

It would be beneficial if you have proven experience with the below:

• Experience from trading gas markets (short and long term) or from an operational point of view (trade support/dispatching)
• Understanding of options theory
• Strong negotiation skills
• Gas portfolio management
• Strong knowledge and experience with European gas markets including understanding of the physical gas market.
