The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) – Transaction Management Department (TM) – Restructuring and Resolutions Division (RR), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2025)
(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Objective of the traineeship
The main objective of the traineeship is to finalize the creation of a comprehensive and user friendly database of the restructuring team's case studies.
In addition, you will support restructuring officers in some of their distressed transaction-related day-to-day tasks, in particular financial analysis and modeling, or Powerpoint presentations.

Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will be:
- You will act as a full member of the team. While working with and reporting directly to the Head of Division, you will also receive the direct support of each of the restructuring officers and administrative assistants, in order to be able to provide a valuable contribution to the Division.
- You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of transactions managed by EIB's restructuring team from a financial and legal standpoint, across countries and sectors where the Bank is active.
- Interact with all members of the Division in order to complete the traineeship's objectives also liaising with the Bank's other services when necessary.
- In relation to the case study database project:
- Proof read and finalize existing case studies,
- Prepare missing case studies,
- Identify and implement the best technical solution to make the library a searchable database.
- Assist team members in various transaction-related day-to-day tasks in particular financial analysis and modeling.
- Final year of studies or University degree with studies oriented towards Business, Finance or Economics or in a related field.
- Analytical skills; prior experience with accounting and financial analysis would be considered a strong asset.
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work in German, French, Italian / Spanish or mastery of another EU language would be considered an advantage.
